• Does Microsoft Internet Explorer have to be installed on reader's computer?

Yes.

An eBook Reader (viewer) comes with eBook Pack Express and uses Internet Explorer as its rendering engine. The reader must have Internet Explorer 4.0 or later installed on that computer.

• Does eBook Pack Express supports JavaScript and ActiveX?

Yes.

eBook Pack Express supports any technology supported by Internet Explorer 4.0 or later. Most frequently used technologies are: JavaScript, VBScript, DHTML, etc.

• How can I quit ebooks in full screen mode?

You can use javascript code: window.external.exit(); to exit from your ebooks.

Here is a sample:
<a href="#" onclick="window.external.exit();">Click this link to close ebook!</a>

Please be aware that the window.external.exit(); works only in a compiled ebook.

• Does eBook Pack Express supports Java?

Yes.

eBook Pack Express supports java on Win9x/2000/XP.

• Can I use PDF documents in my e-books?

Yes.

eBook Pack Express allows readers to open or download .pdf files in the ebooks. To open .pdf files correctly, Acrobat Reader must be installed. You should provide a link to the free Acrobat reader software on your download page in case the person downloading doesn't yet have a copy of Acrobat reader.

• Can I play videos in my e-books?

Yes.

eBook Pack Express supports .avi, .mpg and .wmf video files. To open these video files correctly, you need Windows Media Player installed. You should provide a link to the free Windows Media Player on your download page.

• Why doesn't pop-up window work in my e-book?

Current versions of eBook Reader cannot handle "window.open" correctly, but "window.showModalDialog" works fine. We'll try to fix this bug at the next version.

• Can I use my own icon for my eBooks?

Yes.

• Can I link my Table Of Contents entries to Internet web pages?

Yes.

Select the TOC entry you want to link to internet web page, and enter the URL of that web page in the Link edit box on the TOC editor toolbar. For example: http://www.caislabs.com/techsupport.htm

• How can I Order eBook Pack Express?

After your order is accepted, a registration code will be sent to your Email box within 24 hours. Enter the registration code in your eBook Pack Express register dialog and then click OK button. If your registration code is correct, a message box will popup and tell you that you have already registered.

• How can I get technical supports if I encountered problems?

Please write an email detailing your problems to techsupport@caislabs.com. We'll reply you within 2 working days.

Please provide your Username & Email Address you used to register eBook Pack Express. We don't provide free technical supports for unregistered user. Our reply Email will be sent to your registration Email address.
